The first appointment will include a comprehensive intake before the treatment. The intake will be to review your overall health, your health concerns, and how you hope treatment can help you. It will include a detailed overview of your health and body from head to toe—your digestion, your sleep, your diet, and your stress—to get a holistic health history. This will include a pulse reading on both wrists and a look at your tongue, so please don't scrape it before coming in.

The intake is to look for patterns and ultimately make an East Asian medical diagnosis, which informs your individualized treatment. Acupuncture, cupping, gua sha, and tui na massage are all modalities that may be used in any given treatment.

This appointment is about understanding your health concerns and goals and devising individualized approaches to help you reach your goals. Lifestyle, diet, supplement, and herbal recommendations may be given to help you achieve your health goals more effectively.

Facial rejuvenation acupuncture is a series of acupuncture treatments that reduces fine lines, wrinkles, and discoloration and evens out the skin’s texture. It is a gentle way to enhance skin tone and texture without any downtime after the treatment. The first treatment comes with a consultation where your skin goals will be discussed to plan out treatment and skincare.

This treatment is the first in a series of 10 treatments.

Please note this is not a traditional esthetics facial and does not include masking, steaming, extractions, etc. Please let us know if you’ve had botox or filler as we will avoid facial areas treated with Botox within three weeks, or fillers within three months.

Gua sha and cupping are both wonderful tools for face and skin health. They increase blood flow and decrease tension. They are wonderful stand-alone treatments for those looking for relief from facial tension, TMJ symptoms, and facial puffiness, and for those who are needle adverse. They are also used for facial sculpting. If you are interested, we can teach you techniques to do this at home as part of your skincare routine.

Gua sha is a powerful tool often made of jade or stone used in East Asian Medicine to promote circulation and relieve muscle tensions. It is also a wonderful tool for the face and skin. As an add-on to your treatment, we will invigorate blood flow in your face and neck, while also de-puffing and releasing the facial muscles.

Cupping is a great tool for releasing muscle tension and increasing circulation. It can also help reduce puffiness and swelling. It is especially helpful for jaw tension, TMJ symptoms, and those prone to headaches.

This appointment is a skin consultation and microneedling treatment in one. We will discuss your goals and devise a treatment plan and home care routine to help you achieve your goals.

The treatment will include use of an electric handheld pen-shaped device with tiny needles that make precise, microscopic punctures or channels in the skin. These channels stimulate the skin to increase production of collagen and elastin, which has many benefits for the skin. Please see the FAQ section for more about the benefits of microneedling.

Patients can choose to have a lidocaine numbing cream applied to their face prior to the procedure at no extra charge. The numbing cream takes 20 minutes to take full effect.

Step-by-step instructions for home aftercare will be provided, along with personalized suggestions for a skincare protocol in between appointments.
